Sunday Morning Update 2/22

So... I haven't really been keeping up with the blog since we got home. Life is certainly busy around here, but things are going fairly well. God has been teaching us all very much in these days! I think we all have a new appreciation for life and for one another. It is truly refreshing to watch the older children interact with one another and with little Alegria!

Everyone has been working very well together! We have greatly appreciated all the help we have received! Our family has been wonderful! My mom and Aunt Nancy have both been spending a lot of time out here helping to keep the rest of the household running smoothly. We have also been enjoying the meals friends and our church family have brought in to help us out!

Caring for Alegria is an around the clock job right now, so we have trying to work in shifts so that we all stay as well rested as possible. My mom stayed with us the first two nights and so we had three people to rotate shifts. Tonight was the first night alone for Al and I.

I would ask your continued prayers for her feedings. She generally does not keep all her milk down so we are frequently needing to suction her mouth out both during and between feedings due to her high risk of aspirating (breathing the milk into her lungs). This is probably our greatest concern and trial right now, as it makes it very difficult to lay her down unattended.

This week will be another big change for all of us. Al and my mom both go back to work on Monday, and my aunt heads back home to NC on Tuesday. Please pray for a smooth transition for all of us.

Thanks again so much for all your prayers and encouragement!
Jill
