The last two nights have been just Ali and me on the graveyard shifts :) The first night was tough as Alegria refused to sleep very long. Thursday Ali had become more accustomed to her swing and began sleeping very well there. Last night she slept between feedings twice and woke up just in time for the next feeding. I know it may not sound like much, but to be able to sleep 2 hours straight in my own bed was very refreshing!
Alegria has still been doing well since we increased her feeding from 60 to 65 ccs, so today we will increase her feeding again up to 70 ccs and see how she does. She took 20 ccs from the Haberman bottle yesterday but was very exhausted whebn we finished.
Today we also meet the pediatrician. My biggest concerns regarding the doctor's appointment are actually the logistics of getting there. (Remember the what color is the baby game?) Alegria did NOT tolerate the car ride from Ft. Wayne well at all. She basically needed suctioning the entire ride. Also I am hoping we can time her appointment well enough that it will fall between two feedings and we can be back home before the next feed. Gavage (tube) feeding on the go does not sound very appealing, but I know it will be a hurdle we eventually must cross. While my biggest concerns are not actually what other issues the pediatrician may find, I would appreciate prayers for that also. Al is very busy at work, so this is not one of the appointments he will be taking time off for. My mother will be making the trip with Ali and me instead. Please pray God will give us both grace as I ask some needed questions and listen to the answers the doctor has for us.
