Follow the yellow brick road

The trip home was not quite as easy as it all sounded.
Just get in the car buckle up and drive 1.6 hours right? What's the big deal?
Well.....it was a very tense drive home.
Alegria did not appear to like the fact that the suspension system in my old Geo is not really existent.
All of the bumping and jostling around equaled a great deal of constant happenings in her mouth.
Mom got more than her share of practice with the bulb syringe continuously having to suction her. (so if you come visit and are congested you better watch out for her)
All the while playing the "what color is she turning now" game. ( which despite of the catchy name is really not a fun game)
It is also hard to play this game with just two parents. (next time we will have to bring some innocent bystander to put in between us and take all the blame)
If we had three people than you could at least do a majority vote on the color issue :-)
With just two of us we just disagreed the whole way home.

We knew there would be greater challenges in bringing Alegria home.
We just thought they would at least wait until we got home.

We did obviously finally make it home, and no one was thrown out of the car, even though it was touch and go a few times :-) I may have bruises for a few weeks but no broken bones :-D

After all that, things did go much better once we got home.
It was wonderful to see the other children again, and they of course could not wait to get their little hands on their new baby sister.

Thanks to the help of Nancy and Mary the night went on very smoothly.

And they lived happily ever after.........or at least until the middle of the night feedings begin :-)
