We are back home again. She did fairly well, no more episodes even though it certainly hurt. Thanks for praying.
First impressions, this new g-tube is certainly much easier to burp (once it is connected), but it also is a bit more challenging to connect and disconnect, hopefully we will learn to do it a bit quicker. It does have a higher profile though so we'll have to be a bit more careful with it too.
Another quick praise, Samaritan Ministries called today to let us know they have agreed to pay for the apnea monitor, oximeter, suction machine, and oxygen in full. This is a wonderful blessing as medical equipment is not automatically covered for subscribers!

Are you using mini-one extension tubings or mickey tubings with the new button? (Both work with the mini-one buttons.)
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that the mini tubings were harder to vent. And bigger volume. We had to use mickey tubings with the mini one, anyway, because the mini tubings were so bulky that they pulled the button sideways and caused some irritation/bleeding at the tube site.
Hey, do you think you could post some pictures of your sewn g-tube pads on Alegria? Unless the new button is shorter-stemmed and now they don't fit. I'm just curious to see them in use. :)
