Bard Button (New g-tube)

Thank you all for praying, Ali's appointment went much better than anticipated. The whole procedure took less than 2 minutes. Although I am sure it was painful, Alegria tolerated it very well (thankfully no apnea episodes either!) Instead of having a long tube sticking out of her stomach, there is now just a port or "button" (which looks like the valve on a beach ball) And now she is tube-free (except for when she is eating).

We also saw the cardiologist while we were in Ft. Wayne, and he said Alegria's heart is looking good. We did not repeat the ECHO today, since she just had a month ago, but he said that her heart sounded good. His ear is so trained that he can differentiate the different sounds the heart is making and where the murmurs are coming from. He could not hear a pressure difference on her bicuspid pulmonary valve (this is very good news), so right now although the valve is abnormal it is not making her heart work any harder.

And now we do not have any appointments scheduled in Ft. Wayne for 3 months!!!

I almost forgot Alegria has not had any major apnea episodes in a month now!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!
